On Thursday January 13th the Russell Club Soundsystem will return to one of our favourite venues for one of our favourite get togethers. For over 20 years Flaxon Ptootch has not only been styling Kentish Town and beyond from its head quarters on the High Street but has also been a cultural melting pot for all manner of local creatives from across the artistic spectrum.
As well as providing one of the most comfortable atmospheres to get your 'air did' in London town it also acts as a gallery space featuring some of the most prominent names on the emerging art scene. Each month two different artists are invited to display a collection with a private viewing and soiree held on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
With a strong network of musicians, artists, film makers, and in general, lovely creative like minded people, every party is always a great occasion. With a penchant for fine cocktails the salon's director and gallery curator Michael Ptootch provides a bar stocked with only the finest ingredients served by a crew of London's premier cocktail barmen. There is always live music from a whole host of top players and dj sets from across the board.
December's party celebrated 20 years in business and quickly became a road block event with a live roof top show from local boy and UK chart topper Mr. Hudson. Highly revered local urban artist Mr. P displayed a formidable collection of his works and Russell Club Records founder and chief Dave Vega kept the tunes rollin' until the break of dawn.
